The Making of The Gabrielle Bernstein illustration by Emily Brickel
Gabrielle Bernstein is one of my amazing Mentors, spiritual Gurus, an incredible business women and my friend (not to mention New York Times Best selling author and inspirational speaker). Since getting to know Gabby and the spiritual impact she has had on my life, I was incredibly moved to draw her.
She once said that “When you are not sharing your talent, you are doing a disservice to the world.” This completely opened my eyes and I am proud to say that Gabby is the main reason I picked up illustration again. She had re-awakened a calling in me that I had been suppressing for years.
Here you go, the creation of The Gabrielle Bernstein illustration. Hope this moves you to share your talent with the world.
The Making of The Christina Illustration… by your's truly
Rock Hard Atelier illustration was a means to an end, it was quick fashion croquis that got to the point and focused on the garment. It was not until this month that I was moved to pick up illustration again. Delving deeper into my spiritual being, it was my soul that was called to draw again. Here you are. I hope you see the passion and love I felt while creating this for my best friend’s birthday – hope you enjoy!

Completely inspired!
Ok, So I just discovered this amazing site, and I am completely obsessed. It’s called Pinterest.com. I try hard not to post just ANYthing unless I am completely inspired – so here it is. If you are a visual person (like I am) and constantly rip out pages of magazines, take photos of images you love or scour the internet for fascinating visuals to marvel at; this site is for you. No, I am not being asked to endorse this, I am just overwhelmed by the amount of inspiration I am finding on this site.
You can follow me at Pinterest.com and search for Emily Brickel to see what I am inspired by.
The site works much like Facebook and twitter where you can follow people to see what they are into, only in this case – visually. But more than that, it is a social bulletin board. You can not only share images, but use it to catalogue and notate photos, get inspiration from others and go back to this website if you are drawing a creative blank.
Check out some of my Pinterest images just to get a taste- if you want more join to see what I’m into and let me know what you think!
and here are some of my categories…
The act of going to Pinterest yourself and finding what gives you goose bumps and curating your boards are what is truly inspiring about this. You don’t have to love my images, you can find your own, or you may love mine and repin them… this is such an addicting website – I am glued.
Happy Pinning – and as always-
I hope that inspires you!

Inspired fashion illustration
So inspired by Gabrielle Bernstein, motivational speaker, inspired Entrepreneur and author who said tonight basically “when you don’t do something that you love, or that inspires you, you are doing a disservice to the world.”
I was thinking about that tonight after I heard that and thought about my drawings, I haven’t really drawn like this since high school and the times I draw are for my “work” which is also my love, fashion design. My drawings for fashion design, however are less detailed and labored more so to get a concept out, but I truly forgot how much I love to draw. So tonight, in one and a half hours, I have to say I’m pretty thrilled and proud of myself that I was able to get this result with out drawing for years.
Thank you Gabby.
For all of you who don’t do what you love and I mean REALLY LOVE, as a child or just your inner most love for fear that it does not fit in your “real world” or should I say the “illusion” of your real world; DO IT! Please, for your sake and the worlds, share your talent, your love and your gift with all of us.
Here I am sharing mine with you!! Hope you enjoy!!! I did!!!!!!

Blog 2.0……
Hello all! And THANK YOU for sending me such sensational and appreciative comments! I apologize for not updating any posts lately and I realize, with my hectic life, and someone who, amidst searching for inspiration all the time gets a bit side tracked by my large, color coordinating and growing to do list, that I hadn’t had the time to sit and write a long and thoughtful inspired blog post.
So…. to this effect, I am sure you my fellow readers have had less time on occasion to read all of my rantings.
To the point, I will strive to add more and succinct thoughts, rantings and images so for those in-between times when I haven’t had a chance to sit and write for hours (which I love to do), I will just post short and sweetly.
and to that, I beg adieu and leave you with this my lovies!!!
xoxo
Hope that inspires you!
Yay!
