I am SO excited to bring you this week’s blog! This Tuesday I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Opening of the brand new Times Square MEGA STORE that is Express! There is no other way to describe it other than “Express on steroids” coined by Michael Weiss the chairman and CEO of the multi billion-dollar chain.

The huge new store is located in the heart of Times Square in the landmark Miller Building on 46^th and Broadway and, incase you can’t find it, the store is denoted by a soaring 9,000 square foot LED screen – the biggest and baddest billboard in all of Times Square to date.

The event was star studded and pinnacled with an EPIC performance by non other than Robin Thick, the man who was THE IT man of 2013.

Robin belted out his hits while air grinding to the outside crowd screaming through the windows – It was kind of unreal in a really amazing way.

Thousands of people were waiting outside, in-line for a chance to get into the store for a glimpse of the tri-level 22,500 square foot retail space and I got the inside scoop. E! news was there, as well as models, big time bloggers and other celebs. According to WWD and David Kornberg, president of Express, Times Square is set to be “the number-one store in the chain” speaking about volume sales.

Express does categories really well, setting the distinction between party/going-out clothes, work wear, denim and casual in a huge and elaborate way.  The accessory wall was pretty impressive for any accessory maven and the shoe section was reminiscent of a luxury department store.

With a strong exclamation point on technology, the mobile point of sale check-outs, sleek furniture, chandeliers and digital glass LED tickers were seamlessly brilliant. I think saying this store will be a huge hit is an understatement.

Express went BIG, so big it shines.
