So “One Fun Thing” is a response that I used to (and still do) give my boyfriend when he asks me on a day off what I want to do.

What do you want to do today? My response: “One Fun Thing.”

Not sure what this one fun thing is, I don’t really care, I generally just want to make sure the day’s agenda includes something fun. It can be anything from getting ice cream to a pillow fight, or sometimes if I’m lucky, a little shopping trip.

Now on a day like today, a gloomy, chilly fall day where I’m not so motivated, not feeling great and certainly NOT feeling creative, I decided to use this principle in my day. I think we should incorporate this into every day, especially every work day.

My “One Fun Thing” for today is this blog. I love doing it and I love writing and sharing my experience with you. This fun thing will give me energy to get the rest of the things done today on my to-do list. It will give me motivation and put a smile on my face to get through my tasks.  I recommend every one try this!

In your task list every day, write One Fun Thing: __________________________

And leave it blank until you know what you want to do. Make it be starting a creative project or brainstorming on your next phase of business. Maybe its doing an illustration, writing a blog, trying a new recipe, a gym class, writing a love letter, or putting some music on for a 3 minute dance party.

Remember, we are on divine timing, not our own.  Things will get done all in due time and these Fun things give us the energy we need and the creative juice to get it done the way we are meant to. You never know, you may find some inspiration along the way.

Hope that inspires you!
xoxo
